Here is the Ex Carbon Sales Spur (nee Miner Hillard Mill). The ties in the foreground are from the spur. The track in the background is the NS line (Former D&H)
The spur went through the "Oakies" and connected in to what is now RJ Corman by Main and Johnson Street in North End. In the early 2000's the makshift crossbucks and tracks were ripped out severing the line.
There were several lines running in this area. There is an empty field below the old D&H (NS) tracks off of Slaba Hill ... this may have been a yard at one time.
But when Carbon Sales had rail service ... box cars for bags of coal dust for filters and hoppers would come and go from the Property. A Union Pacific box car was there for quite a long time, but was removed before the line was severed.
