Carbon Sales, Miners Mills, Summer 2012 |

Here are some shots of the fomer Cabon Sales complex in the Miner Mills section of Wilkes-Barre. The first two shots are of a railroad siding that is all but grown over. In fact it is not visible from Main Street. In years past you could see a pave cut where the tracks seemed to cross Main Street on Slaba Hill. So it looked like it connected with the D&H mainline. Also worth noting, by the creek is a large field, below the D&H main - this looked like it could have been a small yard to store coal cars - the field is all cinders and there were spikes here and there. The Carbon Sales buildings were a former flour mill. Carbon Sales used to grind carbon for use in filters. It does not look like it is in operation anymore.
