The lack of leaves on the trees shows the old abutment of the Carverton Road Trestle. That was the old Lehigh Valley, Bowmans Creek Branch. The live ran from Plains to Noxen and north. After the bridge across the Susquehanna was torn down, the LV used its other lines on the West Side to access it.
