Through looking at other Historical Markers and the internet, I found out that many of the Avondale Mine Disaster victims were burried in the Washburn Street Cemetery in Scranton.   I had to wait for some good weather and the snow to melt to go check it out.

The Cemetery is very old and has very old monuments and headstones.  Some you can not even read, as the writing wore off the stone markers.

The first Historical Marker is near the enterance to the Cemetery.    It was placed by the National Welsh-American Foundation.   Easy to find.   I started driving through the Cemetery.  The roads are just dirt roads.  Near the back there were some huge holds filled with water.  An SUV was in front of me drove though it.   I did not want to get stuck so I turnded around.   I got on the main road and at first could not get tracion, but then got going.

I parked by the entrance and started looking.   I asked some people working.  They told me where to plot was.   I would never have found it.

Two more Historical Markers are by the Avondale victims plot.

There are a lot of old headstones and monuments in the Washburn Street Cemetery.   This is looking at an angle toward the Avondale plot.
