Here is a place I always wanted to take some pictures of but never made it up there. This is the Laurel Run Mine Fire. Along the road to the Trailer Park are sereral fenced in areas where there are boreholes.
These are vents to the mine fire. In the late 1980s and early 1990s it was more active.
When we were there some smoke and steam was coming out of these vents.
The CNJ ran not far from here.
