Just digging though some photos and came upon these.  Scrapping of former Reading MU Cars that were used in The Station and Choo Choo Inn in Wilkes-Barre.

The old Reading Cars had the pantographs stripped off and the insides were converted into Hotel Rooms.     Looks like this was in the spring of 2000.  The "New" South Street Bridge is in place.  The cars must have had plumbing and elecrical for the rooms on the underside of the cars.   They must have went through a lot of effort to convert these into Hotel Rooms.

The concept of staying in a Train Car for a Hotel room was a novelty.   There are other hotels in the Downtown it had to compete with.

So they must have had to stripped out everything from the cars then it looks like they lifted the carbodies off the wheels and trucks.

The last to shots show the cars back on the trucks a short distance away under the South Street Bridge.  It really was strange to see these cars on what was a little used siding.   They must have cut up the cars for scrap and there was almost nothing left of them.

The cars were painted with the name "Revel Railroad".
