Former Diner, Ash Street Scranton |

Going through some old images - from back in August 2005, a former Diner on Ash Street in Scranton. Back in the late 80's this was visable on Steamtown Excursions. Recall passing this with all cars parked outside it, and the cars filled with people eating. It kind of reminded me of The Station in Wilkes-Barre. Always wanted to go and check it out but never did. Was it also used as a bar ? Someone called it Ash Street Express and bands played there at night, I really don't recall seeing any ads for it in the papers back in the day. The big places to go were Jitterbugs in Edwardsville, The Woodands in Plains, Heil's Place in Scranton. Don't recall this place as a bar. It seems the cars have been removed and there are truck trailers, metal and other debris on the site now. Denaples / Former Erie Shops are just on the hill above this site.
