Excursion To Jim Thrope Loads in Duryea
An excursion that was a fundrasiser for the Pittston YMCA loads in the parking lot of Weis Market in Duryea.
Probably the first time Steam was on these rails in a long time.
An older man told me he lives up the hill and heard the train coming in at 9:30 at night with the engine chugging and the steam whistle blowing. Just like when he was growing up.
The train sits on the former E-L Bloomsburg line. It will make a backing move to Coxton (Pittston) yard, turn at the wye at Pittston Junction and then head out over the former LV Mountain Cutoff.
