September 02, 2007 A Crippled train limps across the Gauntlet. It left half of it on the siding in Laflin. Of course the train would not come when I was resting by the trestle.
Here was see a light move of three NS units crawling across the Gauntlet. It was a beautiful late summer day. The engines were heading back to Laflin. This is just one some of the bad luck they have been having on the Sunbury Line lately. Maybe they need more sidings to put things if there is trouble. In the 70s into the late 80s there was a siding on the other side of the Black bridge in North End, just up from the Gauntlet. The siding ran up to Plains and Hudson Yard. (I think they called it Double Tracked back then.)
