I always like going thru Philly. You can see a good mix of NS,Amtrak, CSX,SETPA and more.
Live from the field via my retro Palm III :
Going to Wildwood NJ. Big accident on I-95. Tanker truck ovedturned. We had to go thru Philly.We had to take the Schuykill Expressway to the Walt Whitman Bridge.
Saw some NS units hauling a coal train off the Schuykill
Lucky to catch an NJ Transit unit hustle some cars across a bridge.
Then caught 2 CSX Dark Future units hauling a Stack Train on that elevated track near the 30th street station. I think the
In the 70s it was Chessie System, RF&P, CONRAIL with old electrics and even GG1 locomotives.
call that the High Line. Personally,I think the Dark Future is elegant, almost like the D&H final scheme.
At the 30th station I was treated to glimpses on Amtrak MOW cars and equipment. There was even a Sperry rail services car on one of the sidings.
Then we passed the Packer Ave Marine Terminal. Lots of containers there.
