A Northbound passes by Hudson near the site of the former Hudson Yard.

  • The little cement foundation was off to the side of the track was supposed to be for a hopper car unloader.
  • It was for bulk unloading of something like salt or sand of cement ... forgot what one.
  • The foundation was built, but nothing else as the plan fell through.
  • It was not for unloading coal or ashes from steam locomotives as some people have thought.

Tidbit :

In the DL&W Scranton Station,
now the Radisson,there are about
20 ceramic tile work mosaics around
the main concourse of the building.
The tile work pictures were supposed to
represent locations on the railroad.
