Well the old CNJ Wilkes-Barre Station is getting Rough. It was supposed to be re used by Luzerne County. It is still sitting vacant. Vandals have been stealing anything they could get their hands on. Recent articles in the local papers say the copper roofing material has been stolen. The inside must be a mess by now. By the time the County tries to do something with it ther will be NOTHING left of it. I remember going there in 1985 to see some official make Campaign speeches. The place was beautiful. In the center there was a skylight and large trees in it. There were several bars and at that time you could even eat an a dining car. Not now.
There still is one of the FGE (Fruit Growers Express) refers rusting away at the end of the building.
Lately the Meth Monkeys have been stealing the Copper roofing material. Anything for some dope. |
