Wilkes-Barre CNJ Station Continues To Decay |

By they time something is done to the old CNJ Station in Wilkes-Barre it will be too late. There were ideas being tossed around to make this a Luzerne County Tourist Welcome Center. Or something like that. The photo here is from January 2016.
Since then the homless have been living in it and stealing any copper, brass, wire, or pipe they could cash in for money. Driving past it the other day it looks like the lot was cleared. An area has been fenced off. Supposedly a Burger King is going to locate there. On the far side there are some retail units - a bank branch and maybe a Dry Cleaners. What has happened to the wooden Crossing Tower ? When did that disappear ? Work should have been done to stabilze the Station building. The elements and people stealing scrap is taking its toll.
