Tank Cars From Miners Mills, Parsons Moved to Hanover |

Tank Cars Moved After ComplaintsOn a bright, sunny day, (that is Fool's Sunshine as it is 18 degrees) we see some of the tank cars that the residents of Parsons and Miners Mills were complaining about. This looks like the cut of car that was in Miners Mills, because it has some hoppers in it. People built new homes in Pine Ridge. They do not want to look out the window of their $250,00 - $300,000 house and see tank cars. (I am a railfan and would not like to see tank cars. F Units, yes, tank cars, no) The County Redevelopment Authority is in charge of the Railroad and the Luzerne Susquehanna operates the trackage. The home owners did not want to hear the Director of the Redevelopment tell them they should not have built a home next to a railroad track. There are plenty of places on County owned tracks were they can be stored out of sight.
Railroads generate revenue by selling spottings or spsces to park cars along sidings. Cars not used in off peak times need a place to be stored. |
