Here is a shot of J&H Concrete.   This was my railfanning background in the 70's in the East End of Wilkes-Barre.  Next to it on that empty lot was Addy Asphalt.  That was an Asphalt plant with all the trucks and equipment.    J&H Concrete had all the mixmasters parked outside it.

The present day Wilkes-Barre Blvd, at one time was the railroad.  The D&H and CNJ tracks were in this area.

By the mid to late 70s, the D&H tracks were just like a spur that ended at Scott Street.

Rail operations in that time meant a string of cars, probably from Hudson yard, would be backed down the tracks, that ran next to Bownan Street.  The cars would back down like on a Monday and stay to like Wednesday and then leave.  Maybe another cut of cars would be shoved in place the next day.

We almost never saw the locomotives.   One time kids apparently uncoupled a car and it rolled down to Scott Street and derailed.   2 locomotives came down and they were able to get it back on the tracks somehow.

The LV ran behind this.    There was also a in Interchange track for the D&H/LV.   Later it was D&H/Conrail.   I remember being on the top floor of Holy Savior School seeing a cut of brand new Cascade Green Burlington Northern box cars being shoved in the interchange track.

In the late 70s, early 80s, the tracks were removed.
