425 in the Rain at Duryea

Caught 425 in the rain at Duryea. as it heads to Avoca.  Rainy and cool out today.  I wanted to ride that trip but did not ... good thing ... it was not warm by any means.  

  • What really struck me is how much noise the steam engine made.  From a long way off you could hear it chugging and chugging upgrade.   The whistle was very shrill and it really caught your attention. 
  • The Diesel really did not make much noise at all.  
  • I think 425 was there to help the Diesel engine, right ?  
  • It was very nostalgic to see a steam train.
