Live from the field via my vintage Palm M500 :

Caught R&N 425 at Duryea, Pa.

2 tenders and 2 SD50s hauled the train. A large crowd turned out to see it pass.

I am still amazed at how many people turned out to see this train - maybe the first steam engine on this line in 40 years.

Tidbit :


At one time the Lehigh Line was double tracked from Pittston all to Dupont and up the mountain. This was formerly the Lehigh Valley Mountain Cutoff. Conrail removed much of the second track.
