Jan 28, 2007 During normal railfan operations in the dead of winter, the most unlikely sight was seen - about 10 seagulls in the Luzenere Street Area of Scranton. More were spotted flying over Steamtown. When you think of seagulls, you think of the Ocean and beach in the summer. Not Scranton in the Winter. What are they doing in Scranton ??? They must be following the Lackawanna River. The watershed must be good to support these visitors. At other times I have spotted seagulls around the Keyser Oak plaza.
