New Digital Camera, Samsung Digimax S1000

I recently got a new Digital Camera, a Samsung Digimax S1000. I have had it for about 4 weeks now - it is an amazing little camera.

The thing fits in the palm of my hand and does 10.1 Megapixels. I have it set for 6 MP, because the files would be huge. I got a 1 GB card for it, and it takes up to a 2 GB SD Card.

It has an amazing zoom - the optical is good, but when you use the digital zoom, it has an almost camcorder type quality to it. Of course the image breaks up in extreme zooms.

It also comes with an image editing program that has a program that lets you create a web album. You select a template, colors, background etc., and press a button and it builds a web album for you. Only thing is that it renames the files, lile pic01, sec01, and discards your file names.

Probabaly because people name files like train 02.on sunny.day november.jpg. So it changes them to web safe names. Oh, and the html it makes lets you customize it, and it is straight html and uses no php or databases so it is easy to use.

The camera also lets you choose between Ni-Cad or Alkaline batteries. Neat. It even has a full manual mode and does up to ISO 1000. I paid $158.00 from Computer Geeks for it, and I thought it was a great deal.
