Kowaflex E

May 23, 2006

Purchased a Kowaflex E from an estate sale. It is a vintage 35mm camera. Made in Japan, circa 1961. It took a little while for me to figure out how to open it. The light meter was working. I determined it was a 35mm and bought it for $20.00.

After some research it actually has a solar cell in it for power - no battery. It has a fixed 50mm lens. IT is a very well made camera. The first test roll I screwed up - I did not load correctly and ended up opening the camera up and cutting the film out as it jammed. After looking some online instrutions I loaded it correctly and shot a test roll.

The first test roll came out real good. I may shoot another color roll then I intend to load this camera with Black & White film and do something different.
