Kidder Street / Kidder Vein

Once my Grandfather told me that Kidder Street in the East End of Wilkes-Barre was named after the Kidder Vein of coal.

The Kidder Vein was a long vein of coal, and Kidder Street was a long street, so that was one of th reasons they named it that.

Also they used to call East End, Five Points because it looked like five points on a map.
