Donora Smog Disaster

Saw an interesting program on The Donora Smog Disaster. Donora is an Industrial town in the Western part of PA by Pittsburgh At the time there were Zinc Plants and Steel mills in Donora. The town is at the bottom of a valley on a bend in the river.

It was said that during the Steam Era, Downtown Scranton had cloud of smog over it due to the Lackawanna Railroad yard and many trains moving up and down the line.

In addition, there were many industries in the city.
