Sometimes when you do photography you come upon a scene, almost at random, that has great significance. Here, a picture of St. Mary's Byzantine Rite Church in Hazleton, with a culm dump in the background, describes the History of the Northeastern PA Hard Coal Region. Many Immigrants from Eastern Europe, (and to be fair, other parts of Europe) came over here to work in the mines to dig coal, and to practice their religion in their own way.
