Here are some of the last images I took of the Hotel Sterling before demolition. These were taking July, 24, 2013.
It is a shame that this building had to go the way of the old Hotel Casey in Scranton. Too often property owners let the buildings go too long and the properties are just too far gone to save.
We have seen this many times with Churches, Railroad Stations, Civic Buildings, etc.
This was such a nice hotel in its day. My father used to like the Irish Pub that used to be in it.
Oh well, we have a nice new parking lot. I guess that this is progress.
The fire escape is interesting. Nice metal work there.
There is copper on the top of the roof. Very ornate.
