Sightings 12-07-01

Saturday :

Taylor Yard -

Not much happening, 4 CP locomotives laying over, getting cloudy and
dark about 1 PM.

Steamtown -

Two D-L alcos were on Bridge 60. By now it was a mix of rain, wet snow
and ice. Very cold and damp. Went into the trolley Muesum . They got a
lot of good books and video. My Christmas present to myself will be
Steel City Traction...

Went to Dickson City to do some shopping. The Santa Train was running,
but earlier in the day.

Taylor, Again -

Could not park near the yard due to the MOW trucks parked there. Parked
up the street and brave the snow and rain to get some video of the tail
end of a coal train.

Sunday -

Avoca and Duryea :

Lingered around the tracks around 11 AM. left for lunch at 12. Seemed I
missed the trains. An RN local was getting ready to leave about this
time.

Taylor :

Later in the Afternoon, I went up to Taylor, a few units were laying
over.

Live from the field, via my Sharp Wizard 1 MB:

Sat Dec 15

Got up late and missed most of the trains.

Hudson -

Took nephew to the Hudson Model RR Club for thier Open House. He is
only four and even though I told him not to, he kept trying to touch the
trains.

Taylor -

Nothing going on.

Sunday Dec 16

I got up early and was out by 9:30

Avoca -

Stopped by the ball field and the signal was yellow and then turned to
Green. Damn Just missed one.

Taylor -

Got up to Talyor by 10:30 and a coal train was in the yard. Upon closer
inspection, it was the tail end pusher, an NS wide cab. Two CP units
were cut on to assault the grade. Another train was on the siding.

Coal train went north, and the train in the siding,412, headed south.
There were like 8 units on 412

Went home to eat

Hudson -

Stopped by the Hudson model RR club to finsh off a tape in my
camcorder. I really took a good look at the layout this time.

Some Highlights :

Wadell Coal Company hoppers in orange.
Road sets of RS-3's in D&H, and EL schemes
A roundhouse and yard surrounded by D&H alcos (Inspired by Oneata ???)
A CNJ Babyface Baldwin hauling a train of flat cars with business cards
of sponsors.
LV PA's pulling a train
Clinker Steel Company, a steel mill possibly inspired by Bethlehem Steel

Very detail rolling stock of mostly fallen flags of the Northeast.

Pittston Junction -

A few units were laying over at the Yard office, I was wondering if
LEPI ran today, I did not see one or hear anything on the scanner.

Avoca -

Stopped at the McApline St crossing by a short Reading and Northern
train, probably going to Techniglass.

Steamtown -

Went to the bookstore and the bookstore in the Trolley Museum. They
were still running trolley trips. The only other thing of interest was
a DL alco on bridge 60.
