Sun, 19 May 2002 Saturday : Rainy day, not to good for much outdoor activity Taylor - D&H #7312 was at Taylor. A crane was on a siding. Nothing seemed to be going on. Scanner was quiet. Steamtown - Several DL units were on bridge 60, like they normally are. Took a walk up to the food court in the mall. The trolley came back from the Iron Furnaces and the #514 in Nickle Plate colors hauled two coaches. When I was walking back, the trolley was going on another run. Still dark and overcast, although the rain has stopped. Buttonwood - Nothing but some hopper cars. No trains. Ashley - Took a walk behind the Huber Breaker and looked at some remains of the yard. Some old switches on a disconnected spur. Also still standing near the boro building is a block signal. That was the throat of the yard. Of course in the distance I heard a train go thru Buttonwood were I was about 15 minutes ago. Sunday : Sunny but cold. Avoca and Duryea - Nothing. took my little nephew out with me for a ride and maybe to see some trains, but nothing. Taylor - D&H #7312 and an CP unit was laying over. Nothing else moving. Ashley - Went back near the Huber Breaker to take some pictures. Also went near the Park N Ride by the Industrial Park entrance to see a conveyor carried coal and some pipes over the tracks. Got some good shots of the breaker in the distance at a different angle.
