stg01-01 New Years Day sightings - It was cold today, about 18 degrees with wind off and on. Passed by a cold Pitton Junction. 3 locos, (The all looked like U boats) were by the yard office. L and S number 30 was in the normal spot. Nothing was running because of the holiday and everyone was recovering from last night. On the way back I decided to go up Westminster road to see if I could do photography of the double stone arch underpass a short distance from thr intersection with Jumper Road. I found a place to pull over and took some shots of the arch. One side is a single lane tunnel that carries Jumper Road under the old Mountain Cutoff of the LV. The other stone arch lets a creek flow through it. Local watercolor artist Sue Hand did a painting of this stone arch when I was in college.
