Plymouth Miners Memorial

Here are shots of the Plymouth Miners Memorial. It is located in the boro of Plymouth, PA near the Senior Hi-Rise.

The monument consists of several marble panels that lists some of the many mine disasters and accidents that occured in the area. It looks like it is made of Granite and Marble. The texture of the "timbers" actually look like wood.

There are even some metal tablets that have even more accidents listed on it. The tablets are enclosed in a plastic case to protect them from the elements.

The memorial was dedicated in 1987 with a long ceremony.

There are also some Historical Markers up the street from the memorial and at the end of town by the National Guard Armory.
